The Dolomite 1500SE was a limited edition of just 2260 cars, based on the Dolomite 1500. Each car was finished in black with unique silver coachlining, Spitfire-style wheels and a Sprint front spoiler. The interiors were grey with burr-walnut dashboards and door cappings, all of which made for a very attractive looking car.
The car shown here is another example of a UK car that has recently crossed the Irish Sea and is now based in Dublin.
"I bought the 1500 SE in May 2008. It had one lady owner from new in September 1979 until she sold it in 2004. The lady owner had the car Ziebarted (rust proofed) before taking ownership of the car. She kept an extensive file of documents and notes with the car which I now have.
"In 2004, it was bought by a guy who had intended to restore it but it ended up laying in his garage. He then sold it in early 2008 to its third owner who carried out a recommissioning of the car - new master cylinder, exhaust, some brake pipes and a battery.
"Apart from new sills, the bodywork is all original. The interior is completely original and immaculate - the rear seat and passenger seat look like they were never sat on! The car currently has 12,435 miles on it."
