Although the majority of sales of the Triumph Dolomite range were in the United Kingdom, a good number of cars were sold in the countries of Europe, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
This particular car was exported in to Portugual and sold to its first owner in the town of Braga, which is 45km (approx. 28 miles) north of Oporto. The original lady owner used the car for a number of years before moving to live to Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. The car however remained in Portugual, and while kept in garage, was occasionally used by her nephew, just to keep it moving.
Some time later, the car was eventually sold on, to another nephew of the original owner. he used the car until the early 1990s when unfortunately lost his sight. The Sprint was then lied up in a garage until 2004 when he decided to reinstate it.
Many components were replaced, suspension, bushes, tyres, etc., however, his wife didn't really like driving it so it was used very infrequently and only ever at weekends. In December 2010 it was decided to sell the car and it was bought by its current owner, who isn't another nephew.
This 1975 Sprint travelled a mere 32,190Km (20,120 miles) and is still based in Braga. The owner, who admits to always liking Dolomite Sprints, looking forward to long summer days when he can enjoy the car to its fullest.
